A less spreading, conical, fully hardy, deciduous, upright- branching, medium- height tree. Ulmus minor subsp. sarniensis is an upright, deciduous tree with a slender, conical habit. Its flaky, grey-brown bark is more noticeable during the winter, and as the tree matures. Smooth, shiny, green leaves form and attractive crown in summer before turning golden yellow in autumn. Very small reddish-brown flowers appear in March to April, followed by small, pale-brown winged fruits in June. Elm will happily tolerate a sunny or part shaded position, and makes a fine specimen tree for sites with limited space, due to its narrow habit. Height: 10m (33′). Spread: 3m (10′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
