A bushy, deciduous, shrub with hairy shoots and dark green leaves with glaucous undersides. The foliage of Rhododendron viscosum turns a wonderful range of yellow, orange and purple hues in autumn. From May to July, clusters of narrow, funnel-shaped, white flowers flushed with deep-pink provide a deliciously sweet fragrance similar to honeysuckle. As the common name suggests, this Swamp Azalea prefers a consistently moist soil, although not waterlogged, and thrives happily in full sun, although it also will tolerate part shade. A superb specimen shrub for a moist woodland edge on acid soils. Height and spread: 2.5m (8′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
