A ‘must have’, spectacular, semi-evergreen, hardy shrub, renowned for its fiery red, funnel-shaped blooms in late spring, and changing leaf colours through a full yearly cycle. In spring, the mahogany leaves turn a more reddish colour before turning to green through the summer months, returning to a gradual reddish hue as autumn approaches. Its final colour is a rich red from late October through November and possibly into December as emerging new mahogany coloured leaves completes the yearly cycle. Rhododendron ‘Stewartstonian’ is a shrub for instant visual impact when planted in a prime spot on its own, or in the mixed ericaceous shrub border. Height and spread: 1.5m (5′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
