Prunus Pendula ‘Pendula Rubra’

An RHS AGM variety with beautiful arching branches that give the oriental feel of a classic Japanese Cherry. The elegant, gently weeping branches are smothered in deep pink cherry blossom in spring. Throughout summer, the green foliage creates valuable shade in the garden, before turning to vibrant shades of orange and red in autumn. Prunus pendula ‘Pendula Rubra’ makes a superb specimen tree for confined spaces and is particularly effective in Oriental planting schemes and Japanese gardens. Height and spread: 4m (13’).
