Prunus lusitanica ‘Angustifolia’ is a more formal, tidier looking variety of the Portugal Laurel. Its longer and narrower leaves grow on red-purple stems giving it an interesting appearance and providing some additional colour during the year. Most commonly used as a hedging plant, ‘Angustifolia’ will tolerate most soil conditions and is particularly good in chalky soils too. Small white flowers appear all over this evergreen shrub in summer, slowly becoming small red fruits by autumn, both are enjoyed by wildlife. Only needing one prune per year – if required at all – this shrub is low maintenance and very easy to care for. Height: 500cm (197″). Spread: 400cm (157″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
