Passiflora violacea ‘Victoria’ is a vigorous evergreen climber with stunning violet flowers that are larger than most other Passion Flowers. The beautiful blooms are followed by orange passion fruits that make a spectacular feature in late summer. Vigorous and easy to grow, these tropical climbers are always rewarding for their sheer flower power.Grow in large containers on the patio, trained up an obelisk, so that it can be moved indoors to a greenhouse or conservatory over the winter. Height: 8m (26’). Spread: 2m (6.5’)
Culinary note: The fruits of passiflora are edible, albeit somewhat unremarkable in taste. They can be used in preserves and desserts. P. edulis, grown under glass will produce the best fruit for eating. For more details about edible flowers click here.
