Leucothoe Fontanesiana ‘Whitewater’

Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Whitewater’ is more subtle than some cultivars, with small racemes of white flowers that droop from red stems throughout spring. But it is the slender, glossy foliage for which this shrub is really grown. Each dark green leaf is delicately edged with a cream margin. Throughout summer this evergreen remains refined and elegant, before transforming in autumn to a riot of crimson and scarlet. A lovely rounded shrub for shaded acid borders, which requires very little maintenance. Height and spread: 120cm (48″).
