A hardy, deciduous shrub with narrowly, dark green leaves to 10cm (4″) long, turning red to purple to provide stunning autumn colour. An upright, arching shrub covered with fragrant, small creamy white flowers in dense, erect racemes in May and June. Itea virginica requires a moist, acid to neutral soil – perfect for woodland edges or as a specimen shrub in acid borders. Height: 1m (39″). Spread: 1.5m (5′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
