An evergreen to semi-evergreen climber, Hydrangea anomala ‘Semiola’ is ideal for partially shaded walls, fences or trellis in north and east-facing sites. Less vigorous than the common deciduous Climbing Hydrangea, it’s more suitable for smaller gardens, has the additional feature of copper-coloured foliage in the spring, and offers all-year-round, evergreen interest. From May to June, it bears masses of flat, white, lace-cap type flowers that light up shady areas. Self-clinging by aerial roots it doesn’t require any tying-in making it a great option for low-maintenance gardens. As well as its use as a climber, it can also be grown as spreading ground cover. Height and spread: 3m (10ft).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
