It’s an unpronounceable name for an unsurpassable beauty! Dahlia ‘Tsuku-Yori-No-Shisha’ translates as ‘Messenger from the Moon’. The best of the ‘Fimbriata’ dahlias, the feathery ray-like petals of this Japanese cultivar reflect a moonlight glow in the evening. By day, its large flowerheads, up to 20cm in diameter, are held proudly upright on strong stems making them perfectly weather-proof for garden borders. The snowy-white blooms with delicately twirled and fringed petals look divine in wedding bouquets.
Dahlias provide colour from July to October, just when the main flowering season of the garden begins to fade. They’re perfect for filling gaps, superb as cut flowers and easy to grow. Dot plant them in sunny borders or use them to add splashes of colour to patio pots. The tubers can be lifted after the first hard frosts of autumn and replanted the following spring for bigger, better displays each year.
Height: 1 -1.25m (39-49in). Spread: 75cm (29.5).
