This pink form of Cornus kousa well deserves its RHS Award of Garden Merit and makes a superb specimen for small to medium gardens offering multiple seasons of interest. ‘Satomi’ forms a spreading shrub or multi-stemmed tree adorned with pointed green leaves which droop down elegantly from horizontal tiers of branches. In June, the branches are gracefully decked in large, rich pink flowers, consisting of 4 petal-like bracts around a central boss. Attractive pink fruits follow and in autumn the foliage blazes crimson-red before falling. Height: 4m (13ft). Spread: 3 meters (10ft) after 20 years.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
