An unusual Japanese cultivar combining a novel colour and form with a vigorous habit. The flowers of Clematis florida ‘Manju’ are pale green when young, maturing to whitish, creamy-green blooms with a diameter of 4-6cm. Layer upon layer of petals unfold to form a pompom that radiates outwards and is framed by a surround of broader petals. This is a really elegant variety, and one which flowers for months from late spring until early autumn. Use this fast-growing clematis to cover walls, fences and trellis. Despite its opulent looks, this exquisite variety is completely hardy, undemanding and easy to prune – simply cut back the stems to just above ground level each year. Pruning group 3. Height: 4.5m (14.7ft). Spread: 1.5m (5ft).
