This vigorous deciduous Barberry makes an impenetrable hedge or specimen shrub. With a dense, arching habit and spiky stems, it is perfect for creating cover for wildlife or deterring intruders. The red-purple foliage forms a pleasing contrast with its yellow spring flowers, followed by bright red berries. In autumn, the leaves of Berberis x ottawensis f. purpurea ‘Superba’ turn to vivid shades of fiery crimson that will brighten even the dullest days. Height and spread: 250cm (98″).
