Berberis Thunbergii ‘Green Carpet’

Like all Barberry plants, Berberis thunbergii ‘Green Carpet’ is tough and resilient. From early spring the arching stems are cloaked in bright green foliage which contrasts well with the pale yellow blooms and red berries that follow. The flowers attract pollinating insects, while the berries are irresistible to birds, making this a useful specimen for wildlife areas. This deciduous shrub is at its most colourful in autumn when the leaves to crimson red and amber, making a lovely colour accent in borders. With a low, spreading habit this Barberry is a useful groundcover plant. Height: 100cm (39″). Spread: 150cm (60″).
