Acer Palmatum ‘Garnet’

A classic Japanese Maple with deep purple, finely cut foliage that has a delicate, lacy appearance. In spring, Acer palmatum ‘Garnet’ produces inconspicuous purple flowers that are followed by red, winged fruits in autumn. Over time this colourful Japanese Maple forms a spreading, deciduous tree or shrub. It makes a distinctive feature plant for Japanese gardens, rockeries or planted beside ponds, where it will cast beautiful reflections. Also grows well in a patio container making an excellent focal point for a sheltered position, protected for strong winds and the full blaze of the sun. Height: 2m (6’). Spread: 3m (10’).
