Abelia mosanensis ‘Monia’ is best planted somewhere you can appreciate its gorgeous scent which is reminiscent of Jasmine. A fully hardy, deciduous shrub, it delivers a long and heavy flowering display in spring and summer plus autumn foliage colour. From May to June its arching branches bear an abundance of pink buds that open into clusters of white, trumpet-shaped, sweetly fragrant flowers. In autumn, the glossy green leaves turn fabulous shades of burnt orange and red. Easy to grow and unfussy about soil type, it makes a fine informal specimen for a mixed border, especially near a path or patio, where you can appreciate its fragrance. It is a magnet for bees and butterflies when in flower. Maximum height: 1.8m (6ft). Spread: 1.5m (5ft).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
